Exeter Recordings looks like an awesome record studio. Unfortunately, it is located in New Jersey, America, making the travel expenses to the studio massive. Even I have been fooled by the name - worth checking the site out to see how they what is available the other side of the pond by no help if you're looking for record studios in Exeter. Gutted.

The Sound Gallery

The Sound Gallery in the Exeter Phoenix has fantastic state of the art recording and rehearsal studios rentable at seriously reasonable rates. Their dedicated rehearsal room, equipped with a Mackie PA and a Mapex drumkit, as well as a guitar and bass amp, is a relaxed and warm environment located just of Exeter's High Street. Priced at roughly £12 per hour it is great value for money. Their recording facilities are also first class, boasting an extensive range of classic analogue mics, pre-amps and synths alongside the best in digital effects processors, soft synths and plug-ins. Their in house sound engineers and producers, all great to work with, have recorded some of the best in the business including Duffy, Raphael Ravenscroft and BBC Radio One. Recording prices vary on each projected but a standard full day in the studio (8hrs/10am-6pm/weekdays) starts around £220.

Studio 54

Studio 54 located at 54 High St, Exeter EX4 3DJ, is a studio that offers various music based services over three floors in the heart of Exeter’s city centre. The third floor is a purpose built studio where you can make use of some top notch recording equipment. You can develop your material, produce, record, mix & master your music to competitive and commercial standards. The second floor is media based business that has a dedicated green screen room and video editing suite from where you can record & produce your video using state of the art industry software & equipment. This is by far the best place to go if you are after some professional mixing and mastering in the area. Steve Kitch has been mastering records for over 20 years. His experience in this industry means that he can offer extensive knowledge of all music genres to get the best possible sound from your original mix.
